New Aadhyatmik Sudhar Foundation
New Aadhyatmik Sudhar Foundation is continuously working in the field of de-addiction and rehabilitation. Our organization provides a pickup facility for patients struggling with addiction so that they can be safely brought to the center and encouraged to move towards a respectful and healthy life. Here, yoga and meditation are practiced to bring positivity and mental peace into the lives of patients.
Due to the lack of proper awareness about addiction, many young people become victims of substance abuse. Our organization provides the right guidance and information to help people stay away from addiction. From time to time, awareness camps and programs are organized in schools, colleges, and villages to increase awareness in society about living a drug-free life.
At New Aadhyatmik Sudhar Foundation, a dedicated team including psychiatrists, psychologists, counselors, security staff, and nursing professionals work together to take care of patients and support them throughout their recovery journey.
What is Addiction?
Addiction is a behavioral disorder caused by the use of intoxicating substances. It is considered a mental health condition that changes a person’s behavior and lifestyle. Addiction occurs when a person’s body and mind become dependent on a particular substance. Even when the person knows that it is harmful to their health, they find it difficult to stop using it. The symptoms of addiction can vary from person to person.
Major Symptoms of Addiction
- A strong desire or craving to consume intoxicating substances.
- Tolerance: An increase in the amount of substances required. After repeated use of a fixed quantity, a person may need a higher amount to achieve the same effect.
- Withdrawal Syndrome: When a person stops using substances, they may experience physical and mental symptoms such as shaking, irregular blood pressure, insomnia, irritability, restlessness, body pain, loss of appetite, nausea, and vomiting.
- Consuming substances in large quantities for a long time and developing the habit of using them early in the morning.
Major Problems Faced by Addicted Individuals
An addicted person is often more emotionally sensitive than a normal individual. Their emotions may become unbalanced, and although they want to control their behavior, they often find it difficult to do so. Many times they are unable to express their feelings properly, which may cause them to either remain silent or talk excessively.
Sometimes an addicted person uses substances as a way to express their thoughts and feelings. Without the influence of addiction, they may struggle to communicate their emotions. Society may view their behavior as inappropriate because of substance use, but in reality, they may be going through deep mental and emotional struggles.
Such individuals often face significant mental stress. They need care, proper guidance, a disciplined daily routine, yoga, meditation, and a positive environment. Through these supportive measures, positive changes can be brought into their lives.
Main Cause of the Problem
Many people start consuming alcohol or other substances as a hobby, while some begin due to mental or emotional difficulties. Gradually, this habit turns into addiction and the person's life becomes disorganized. As a result, they may lose their place in society and face both mental and physical health problems.
This is one of the biggest challenges faced by addicted individuals.
Drug Addiction
Among all types of addiction, drug addiction is considered one of the most dangerous and harmful. It has severe negative effects on both the body and the brain. Due to the availability of different types of addictive drugs, it is easy for people to develop this habit, but extremely difficult to overcome it.
Becoming addicted to drugs may seem easy, but getting rid of this addiction is a very challenging process. Health problems caused by drug addiction can sometimes continue even after a person stops using drugs.
To overcome this addiction, special efforts, medical support, a disciplined daily routine, and regular yoga practice are very important. With proper guidance and a positive lifestyle, it is possible to control and recover from this problem.
